Remarks :-

For anodized articles and for those having large amount of oil, heavy duty ALKLIN
chemicals should be used. This must be followed by desmutting process.
- For non-anodized aluminium articles and for those having light to medium amount of oil,
light duty ALKLIN chemicals or OLOSOL series of chemicals should be used. This may or
may not be followed by desmuting process.
DESMUTING :- Removal of smut and oxide layer from aluminium surface.

For aluminium window sections, degreasing can be omitted as it does not have any oil but has

CHROMATING :- Gives amorphous chromate coating on aluminium surface.
